Dr. Lisa Chan completed her Honours Bachelor of Science in Ophthalmic Medical Technology as an undergraduate at the University of Ottawa in 2008. After graduation, she worked as a technologist and surgical assistant in the Department of Ophthalmology at the Riverside Campus, a division of The Ottawa Hospital. During this time, she earned her Doctor of Optometry degree with Honours at the University of Waterloo‘s School of Optometry and Vision Science and completed her degree in the summer of 2012. During her externship at the Cataract and Laser Eye Institute in Bethesda, Maryland, she received advanced clinical training in the management and treatment of many ocular diseases including cataracts, glaucoma, age-related macular degeneration, and diabetic retinopathy. She also worked alongside ophthalmologists in the co-management of cataract surgery and laser vision correction.
Dr. Lisa Chan is passionate about promoting proactive healthcare and preventative medicine with patients of all ages. She is especially interested in ocular disease and fitting contact lenses of all forms. Dr. Chan is fluent in English and Cantonese, and is able to perform eye examinations in both languages. When she is not in the clinic, she is an amateur horticulturalist and can be found enjoying her urban jungle in the sky.
