Cycle for Sight 2016

On Saturday, June 18, 2016, over 300 cyclists will embark on the 8th Annual Cycle for Sight fundraising ride in support of vision research funded by the Foundation Fighting Blindness (www.ffb.ca). Cyclists will be cycling either from Toronto or Alliston to the Craigleith Ski club by Blue Mountain (Collingwood area). Cycle for Sight (www.cycleforsight.ca) events will also be taking place in Ottawa, Calgary and Vancouver (West Langley).

At The Clearview Institute, sight saving research is very dear to our hearts. The Clearview Institute is proud to once again be a local sponsor for the Cycle for Sight Toronto event. Since 2012, Dr. Ana M. Juricic, our Low Vision Optometrist, created the Clearview I SEE HOPE Team and has cycled every year on a tandem bike. It is her way of giving back to all of her patients and to support the amazing vision research that is taking place in Canada. The first three years, Dr. Juricic cycled the 145 km distance with her cycling partner who is completely blind. Last year, Dr Juricic cycled with Jerry, a former Paralympian skier who is legally blind. Dr. Juricic and Jerry will once again cycle to Blue Mountain on a tandem bike.

Since 2012, the Clearview I SEE HOPE Team has raised over $100,000 for Cycle for Sight. We could not have done it without all of the support of family, friends and patients.
